Rock star legends Van Halen made waves recently with an announcement they would tour the country behind former front man David Lee Roth.

Now, it gets even better for fans in Detroit: They’re coming to town at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 20.

Van Halen will perform with special guests Kool & the Gang at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Tickets are $149.50, $79.50, $49.50 and $29.50 reserved. There is an eight-ticket limit.

So, what should fans expect?

RollingStone.com reported the band played a tiny basement club in New York City this week to work out the kinks and put on a “stunningly tight set of songs from their 1978 debut LP all the way through David Lee Roth’s swan song, 1984.”

“It was a show guaranteed to make any crowd go into a collective state of hysteria,” reviewer Andy Greene wrote.

Tickets for the Detroit show are available at Palacenet.com, The Palace Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations. Tickets may also be charged by phone to American Express, Discover, Visa and MasterCard by calling 1-800-745-3000.
