Bill's Blog: Future Stripper Has Her H.S. Yearbook Photo Banned

A Colorado teenager's yearbook photo is being denied submission and she is vowing to fight to get it published in the yearbook. 18-year old Sydney Spies of Durango Colorado's yearbook photo shows her in a short yellow skirt and a black skimpy top.

Five student editors at Durango High School decided the photo was too racy for their yearbook.

"We are an award-winning yearbook. We don't want to diminish the quality with something that can be seen as unprofessional," student Brian Jaramillo told the Durango Herald last Thursday. Unprofessional?...Maybe inappropriate. Spies and her mother (classy) and a few classmates and alumni protested outside of the school last week.

Clearly, this girl and her stage mom are using this to get publicity for her and her "career". Whatever that may be. It's evident that in today's world of celebrity you don't need to have an actual talent. You just have to be hot, crazy or both. (See Courtney Stodden).

The issue here isn't whether or not the photo is in poor taste but more about...why didn't girls look like this when I was in high school?
