Children Find Bones Around Vacant Detroit Home

DETROIT (WWJ) - Kids looking for firewood make a disturbing discovery on Detroit's east side -- bones that appear to be human.

The kids were around a boarded up vacant home on Wayburn Street Sunday when they found the bones, which included a spine and a rib cage. The bones were found in front of the house -- and in the backyard.

The Medical Examiners Office collected the remains and other evidence -- and is working now to determine if they are, in fact, human remains. One report this morning indicates the bones could be those of a child.
