Gas Still Tops Last Year’s Prices

Southfield (WWJ)- Drivers across Michigan will be paying a little more for gas this week.

AAA Michigan’s weekly Fuel Gauge survey shows prices up three cents to a statewide average of $3.53 a gallon.  Prices dropped a penny in Metro Detroit, but still average $3.49.  A gallon of gas costs 39-cents more than a year ago.

Outside of the Detroit area, drivers in Benton Harbor are paying the lowest amount for gas, $3.50 a gallon.

Prices are the highest, $3.58, in Marquette.
