GLITR To Host LTU Event At Port Authority On Fresh Water Economy
SOUTHFIELD -- GLITR's Last Thursdays Unwired Coffee Series, held in conjunction with Lawrence Technological University, is moving off Lawrence Tech's campus for the first time Thursday, Jan. 26.
The topic is "Great Lakes Roundtable -- America's Fresh Water Coast And Michigan's Economic Future." So it makes sense we're moving the event to the Detroit - Wayne County Port Authority, 130 E. Atwater in Detroit.
The program will be free, as usual, and will start at the usual time, with networking at 7:30 a.m. and the program for 8 to 9 a.m. (or maybe a tad later if it's going really well).
Join WWJ's Matt Roush at the Detroit-Wayne County Port Authority for a roundtable discussion about the resources the port offers, the role it plays in the region's economic development, and the interest we have in seeing the port's role expand, not just with economic development, but in elevating the Great Lakes as a fresh water superhighway.
Speakers will include:
* Michael Finney, CEO, Michigan Economic Development Corp.
* John Jamian, Director of the Detroit-Wayne County Port Authority
* Glen LeRoy, dean, College of Architecture and Design, Lawrence Technological University
