U-M Student Who Fell From Roof Released From Hospital

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - A University of Michigan student who was seriously injured when he fell off the U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center has been released from the hospital.

The 20-year-old St. Clair Shores resident was climbing down from a second-floor roof early Friday morning when he fell onto a glass overhang and struck his head.

The student told police that he had attended an off-campus party before the incident, but it's not clear what he was doing at the medical center or why he was on the roof.

A spokesperson with the campus police department told WWJ Newsradio 950 they were looking into how he gained access to the roof and if the property security measures were in place.

The student's name has not been released.
