Matt Dery: Winter Classic Coming To Detroit All But Done

If the Tigers plan to really put the foot on the gas for Cuban outfielder Yoennis Cespedes, they have major competition. Cespedes tells the AP that he favors the Chicago Cubs right now due to the fact that they have shown the most interest in him. The 26 year old outfielder adds that just because the Cubs are the leaders it does not mean he will definitely sign there. Tigers need a bat after losing Victor Martinez for the season with a torn ACL.

Former Tigers Armando Galarraga is back in baseball. The Ex-Tiger has signed a minor league deal with Baltimore.

MLive.com reports that it is nearly a done deal. The NHL’s Winter Classic will involve the Red Wings and the Maple Leafs, New Year’s Day at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor but there will be a rink built at Comerica Park. The rink at Comerica Park will reportedly hold an alumni game between the two teams and possibly the Great Lakes Invitational.
The Pistons have dropped 8 of 9 and tonight they continue their road trip in Minnesota against the Timberwolves. Catch the game on the Ticket.
