Guardian's Building Energy Calculator Earns Product of the Year 2011 Honor: US Glass Magazine recently recognized the Building Energy Calculator from Auburn Hills-based Guardian Industries as its Product Resource of 2011. Product of the Year recipients were selected by readers of US Glass. This free online tool is for architects and builders specifying commercial glass. It provides comparisons of multiple glazing options from a variety of manufacturers, analyzing prototypical buildings based on building fuel type, utility rates and specific weather data for 17 cities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The calculator is one of several digital tools Guardian recently introduced to ease the product specifying process for architects, builders and interior designers, including the SunGuard app, InGlass Web site and ecoScorecard.
