Woman Killed In Orion Township Crash

ORION TWP. (WWJ) - Snowy weather may have played a role in a fatal crash Thursday morning in Orion Township.

Police say a car traveling on northbound Baldwin Road slid into the southbound lanes and was hit by an SUV.

A female passenger in that car was trapped and had to be extricated by Orion Township Fire.  The woman, a 64-year-old Troy resident, was rushed to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 11:30 a.m.

The driver of the car was reported in serious condition. The driver of the SUV was also hospitalized. Police said all three were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The victim's name was not immediately released.
