'Love Boat' Actor Ted Lange Celebrates At Ambassador Magazine Release Party

By Raquel Parks

Ambassador Magazine celebrated the launch of its January/February issue with a big splash last Thursday at Royal Oak's Art Van Furniture. Temperatures were bitter cold outside but inside party guests kept warm with delicious food, signature cocktails, music, and games.

Ambassador's "Love Boat" theme provided a laid back, hospitable atmosphere for the evening. Art Van's spacious furniture store served perfectly as a "boat" of entertainment for the event.

Each person who attended was encouraged to bring travel-sized toiletries to benefit the Capuchin Soup Kitchen's "Shower Them With Kindness" program. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with valet service. They were then lead to a deck, covered with an indigo carpet.

Once inside, guests were offered a chance to enter a $20 raffle to win a luxury cruise for two. Guests were also treated to complimentary sailor and captain hats to wear while aboard. Foods and drinks were plentiful from one end of the store to the other.

Barrio Tacos & Tequila, Peteet's Famous Cheesecakes, and Gemmayze Lebanese Kitchen and Lounge were among some of the eateries that served up tasty cuisine to nibble on. Drinks were provided by Grey Goose and Blue Nectar Tequila.

Morada Blue Swimwear kept the warm, tropical theme going by displaying their unique and fashionable swimwear for guests to view. A DJ mixed up a selection of upbeat, music to keep everyone dancing and moving throughout the night.

If that wasn't enough, shuffle board and limbo provided additional entertainment for guests to enjoy while aboard. The fashion attire was equally fun and relaxed with a blend of business casual and after-five outfits.

The night would not have been complete without the guest appearance of actor, Ted "Isaac" Lange from the TV show, "The Love Boat". Lange kept the crowd laughing and smiling by sharing a humorous anecdote from his time on the show.

Overall, the entire evening was a creative, enjoyable affair. It was a great way to celebrate Detroit's fashion scene and provide support for a worthy cause.
