DETROIT (WWJ) – Things are really heated up in the kitchen of a Downtown Detroit lunchtime icon — all in the name of keeping the heat on in thousands of Michigan homes through the winter.
American Coney Island Tuesday hosted the first-ever “Celebrity Coneys for a Cause.”
A portion of the proceeds from the many coneys consumed by the lunch crowd went to THAW (The Heat and Warmth Fund) to help heat local families’ homes this winter.
Celebrity servers including local media personalities, entertainers and athletes were on hand to serve customers.
Celebrity servers scheduled to appear included:

- Shay Shay – 98.7 AMP Radio

- Kem – Motown Artist
- Seth Gold – Hardcore Pawn
- Neal Rubin – The Detroit News
