State Rep. Wants Ficano Removed From Office

DETROIT (WWJ) - A state representative wants to remove Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano from office.

WWJ's Vickie Thomas reports that State Rep. John Olumba says it's time for the embattled county executive to go. The Detroit Democrat sent a letter to the 15 members of the Wayne County Commission urging them to pass a resolution asking Gov. Rick Snyder to begin removal hearings.

Similar hearings were held by then-Governor Jennifer Granholm that helped boot ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick out of office in 2008.

The FBI is investigating a severance pay scandal and other questionable dealings. Ficano maintains he's done nothing wrong.
