GARDEN (AP) - Authorities in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula say a snowmobiler ran down and injured an ice fisherman following an argument on a frozen bay.
The Delta County sheriff’s department says the snowmobile drove close to the ice fisherman on Saturday near Ansells Point in Garden. Investigators say the men then argued after the fisherman flagged down the snowmobiler.
Authorities say the fisherman had serious injuries. The 21-year-old Marquette man was hospitalized in stable condition.
The sheriff’s department says the snowmobiler fled after hitting the man. The sheriff’s department says it appears the men previously were in a dispute. WLUC-TV reports authorities on Monday interviewed a Delta County man in their investigation.
Charges could be filed in the case, which was under investigation. Tips were being sought from the public.
