DETROIT (WWJ) – A 12-year-old Detroit girl has died after she was shot Tuesday night in the 19400 block of Ferguson near Seven Mile and the Southfield Freeway, on Detroit’s northwest side.
Detroit Police Sgt. Eren Stephens told WWJ a man and woman were involved in a verbal altercation just before 9 p.m. Tuesday and shots were exchanged.
Gunfire hit a house, and the girl was shot several times. She was rushed to a hospital where she died.
Police say they know the identities of the acquaintances and believe the man may have fired the shots, but they haven’t made any arrests.
