The newest Tiger, Prince Fielder, is a young man, but he is also a big man. He is 27 years old, is listed at 5-foot-11 and 285 pounds, and can hit the ball a ton. He recently signed a nine-year, $214 million deal with the Tigers and already people are saying the contract is a good one up front but a bad one on the back end.
In other words, many in the media are concerned with his conditioning when he moves into his 30s.
