Gravel Roads Closed Due To Thaw

SUMPTER TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A number of rural gravel roads in Wayne County's Sumpter Township were closed Thursday due to the warmer-than-normal temperatures this winter.

Many gravel roads in the area southwest of Metro Airport aren't frozen solid yet, because the winter's been so mild.  According to Wayne County Public Services, the following roads have been closed due to thawing that has made sections listed below impassable:

Arkona - Elwell to Sumpter

Harris - Sumpter to Martinsville

Karr - Arkona to Willis

Sherwood - Oakville-Waltz to Arkona

Willis - Martinsville to Clark
