Flu Outbreak Closes Howell School

HOWELL (WWJ) - We might not be having much snow this winter but there is no shortage of folks not feeling well.

Bouts of cold and flu are taking their toll this winter as a Howell school announces it will be closed Tuesday because of illness.

WWJ Newsradio 950's Beth Fisher reports that St. Joseph Catholic School in Howell is closed Tuesday because a large number of students and staff are suffering from flu-like symptoms.

The school will be thoroughly cleaned and is expected to re-open on Wednesday.

The flu shut down a Catholic school in Farmington just  last week for a day and in January a Southgate school closed due to flu-like symptoms which resulted in more than 180 students missing school.
