Every Saturday afternoon I run errands with my 10-year-old son, Brandon. We stop for lunch, talk and enjoy one another’s company. On Fridays we stop at Starbucks for a slice of marble cake and we often camp out in the basement on weekends.
I’d hate to see our relationship turn sour.
It’s the same relationship Tigers slugger Prince Fielder used to have with his dad, Cecil Fielder, and now we see why Prince Fielder did not want to talk about his dad when he was introduced as a Tiger during his news conference. There is no relationship, which became crystal clear when Fielder blasted his son and said he has no plans to see him play at Comerica Park.
