DETROIT (WWJ) – No criminal charges will be filed against a 9-year-old Detroit boy or his mother after the child accidentally shot a teenager.

According to police, the 9-year-old found a loaded handgun in the yard at his home on Kilbourne Street on Detroit’s east side.

Police said the child went onto the porch and was playing with the weapon when it accidentally fired, hitting a 15-year-old boy who was walking down Kilbourne, near Outer Drive and Dickerson.

The teen was treated for his gunshot wound and released.

There was also an incident with a boy shooting a another boy in east side detroit a little while back. the reason for that shooting was because of a gang initiation in which the pledge must shoot the first person they see down their street. I dont know if this could be related to this shooting or not but the case seems similar.

And this is another reason suburbanites should pack up and move into Detroit? I’n just sayin’!
