Getaway Driver Sought, Reward Offered In Detroit Murder

DETROIT (WWJ) - A reward is being offered for information in the 2010 murder of a Detroit father of five.

Detroit police are hoping someone will provide the tip they need to find the man who helped the suspect in the fatal shooting of 36-year old Raymond Singleton, Jr. Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,500 reward for tips leading to an arrest in the case.

Detroit Police Sgt. Brian Bowser said they captured the gunman, but still need help to find the getaway driver.

Suspected accomplice

"The shooter has not spoken to us about the incident," said Bowser. "But we believe the driver of the vehicle is an associate of the current defendant, whose name is Mendo Love, who is currently 18-years old.

"And we believe that there are people out in the city of Detroit and in the surrounding area that know Mendo Love and who he associates with," he said.

Police are now looking for the unidentified suspect seen in a shot from surveillance video (at right).

"I lost a son ... my grandchildren lost a father," the victim's stepmother, Joanne Singleton, told reporters, through tears. "Raymond Singleton did not deserve this. He only took care of his kids. That was his whole life."

Anyone with information about this crime or who recognizes the man in this photo should call Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-SPEAK UP. You can also text your tip to CRIMES (274637).
