Police: Man Assaulted Infant, Wife Took Photos

BURTON (WWJ/AP) - Authorities in the Flint area say they believe that a man sexually assaulted his infant daughter while his wife took pictures.

The 25-year-old Daniel Hall and 26-year-old Alisha Hall of Mount Morris were arraigned Tuesday in Genesee District Court on first-degree criminal sexual assault and child pornography charges.

Mount Morris police Chief Keith Becker said an investigation that began in Saginaw County last year led to police finding 745 child pornography images on computers at the couple's home.

Becker said 13 images showed Daniel Hall engaging in sexual acts with the infant, who was 6-months-old when the photos were taken several months ago.

Becker is worried about what else might be on the computer.

"There's still 1,000 images that have to be recovered yet that forensic experts are working on.  So, who knows what's going to be on there," Becker told WWJ Newsradio 950. "We have a solid case, enough evidence to put him away."

Becker said this type of bizarre behavior runs in David Hall's family.

"He's into, really ... stuff on YouTube and his own website," Becker said. "He's a freak. His own wife, during an interview, called him a freak.  His father's doing life in prison for attempted murder, kidnapping, and CSC1 (criminal sexual conduct)."

Police arrested the couple Saturday following up on a tip from an anonymous Birch Run couple.

According to court records, Daniel Hall is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and using a computer in the commission of a crime. He is being held on $750,000 bond.

Alisha Hall, who is 7 months pregnant, was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and possession of child pornography and is being held on $500,000 bond.

Both are jailed in Genesee County ahead of a Feb. 14 preliminary hearing.

The court said Thursday that both requested court-appointed lawyers. If convicted, each faces up to life in prison.
