WATERFORD (WWJ) - A 58-year-old Oakland County woman is dead after police say she crashed her mini-van into a Waterford school bus.

A Waterford School District spokeswoman told WWJ Newsradio 950 the bus was turning from Dixie Highway onto Big Lake Road while going to the Oakland Tech Center near Clarkston when it was hit by the van going southbound on Dixie Highway.

The victim is identified as Carol Ann Malear.

The bus driver and one of the 26 Waterford Kettering  students on board received minor injuries.

Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
