Reporting Jeff Gilbert

DETROIT (WWJ) – For the second time in less than a week, government investigators are looking into car door fires.

The issues reported in 2006 and 2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazers are similar to those reported earlier in Toyota Camry’s and RAV 4’s from the 07 model years.

In all of the cases, it appears the fires started in the power window switch. A General Motors spokesman said he isn’t sure if they used the same supplier as Toyota.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is trying to determine if a recall is warranted.

In the case of GM, more than 309,000 vehicles could be involved. GM said it’s had 12 complaints, including 10 fires.

No injuries have been reported by either GM or Toyota.

I have a 2006 Trail Blazer and I did have a door fire caused by my window switch. The repair cost me $350.00. Now they are considering a recall. Hmmmmm?

Toyota has had this problem FOR YEARS!!!!! Toyota has been replacing these switches as part of a secret “service program”!! Once you have done it a few hundred, you can do the repair in twenty minutes or less !! The customer NEVER knows a repair was made!! Damn sneaky japs!! BUY AMERICAN !!

Your article is very elmtiy as I had the same experience recording a friend of mine who wrote a song that when I was done mixing the various other parts to my liking the song lost the feeling/message that he intended from the start. It was not that my work was bad, just did not listen to the singer/songwriter. As simple as this may sound, I find this to be a difficult to do. As part of my checklist, I added a section to discuss with the artist the intent and message of the song so that my understanding is aligned with their intent.
