-F Austin Daye has gone into an offensive shell once again after a string of four consecutive double-digit outings. He is averaging 3.0 ppg over the last seven games despite getting steady minutes behind Tayshaun Prince at small forward. Daye shot 2 of 9 from the field Sunday against Washington, dropping his season average to 30.3 percent. He has also missed 11 of his last 12 3-point attempts.
–C Greg Monroe was the lone bright spot against Washington, scoring 27 points to increase his season average to 16.8 ppg. He got virtually all of his points on layups (seven) and free throws (9 for 9). Monroe’s foul shooting is an underrated aspect of his improvement. He shot 62.2 percent from the line as a rookie, but that has jumped to 83.5 percent this season.
