Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum wears cowboy boots. Why? “They are the universal shoe,” he told WWJ-TV’s Carol Cain, laughing.

During a campaign stop in the suddenly powerful battleground state of Michigan, Santorum sat down with Cain for a freewheeling “Michigan Matters” interview that will air at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, on WWJ-TV/CBS Detroit.

Santorum talks frankly about issues including his real feelings about rival Mitt Romney and his still-strong opposition to the auto bailouts that many credit with saving the Detroit-based industry.

“GM and Chrysler would not look like they do now (without the bailout)…I can’t argue with that,” Santorum said. “The stuation would not be the same.”

So what would he have done? And, if he is the nominee, will he pick Romney — another bailout opponent — as a running mate? Tune in to find out.
