Red Wings Proud To Participate In SportsFest

Detroit The 11-time Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings will be heavily involved in official radio partner 97.1 The Ticket's Third Annual Detroit SportsFest, scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 18 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Suburban Collection Showplace (formerly Rock Financial Showplace) in Novi. Admission to this fun-filled event is free, with parking available at a rate of five dollars per vehicle.

Attendees of SportsFest will be able to test their puck skills by partaking in a wide variety of interactive hockey games (Top Shot Challenge, Super Deker, Gockey, etc.), while also expanding their Red Wings knowledge by taking a scenic tour through Hockeytown of yesteryear; several mementos and artifacts from throughout the team's rich history will be on display for fans to enjoy. Red Wings forward Darren Helm will also be on hand to sign autographs during Saturday's convention, as will renowned alumni Ted Lindsay, Chris Osgood and Dino Ciccarelli (exact autograph times TBD).

There will be a one-time donation fee of $10 apiece for athlete autographs at this year's SportsFest, with 100% of the funds received going towards the 97.1 The Ticket/Beaumont Student Heart Check Program. Sports fans making a donation will receive a numbered wristband which automatically enters them into a lottery system. Select athletes' autographs (incl. Chris Osgood) will only be available through this lottery system while remaining athletes will sign on a first-come, first-served basis for those with wristbands. Full details on the Third Annual Detroit SportsFest can be found here.
