ANN ARBOR — CIMdata Inc., a global Product Lifecycle Management consulting and research firm announces the formation of its newest business practice. The practice will focus on the strategic expansion of PLM within aerospace and defense companies, as well as its extension across their external value chains, impacting the complete product lifecycle.
Peter Bilello, President of CIMdata, announced that James L. Roche, with more than 20 years of international consulting and PLM practice leadership when he joined CIMdata in 2011, will lead the creation and delivery of CIMdata’s offerings for industrial organizations as its global Aerospace and Defense Practice Manager.
“As members of an early adopter industry, most aerospace and defense companies are on their third or fourth generation of PLM, and are still investing heavily. Many are contemplating a refresh, and all are planning investment in expansion, both horizontally as well as vertically,” stated Roche. “Within a context of changing competitive priorities, major advances in PLM technology, and complexity of their current PLM environments, these companies are striving to develop relevant visions, practical roadmaps, and verifiable business cases for investment.”
According to CIMdata market research announced last year, worldwide A&D industry investment in PLM was expected to exceed $3.2 billion in 2011, and is growing at an estimated five-year compound annual growth rate of 9.8 percent.
With this new practice, CIMdata will offer a complete portfolio of consulting services, customized education for career path options, and deep focused technology research for aerospace and defense companies seeking competitive advantage through improvement of their PLM processes and enabling technologies. CIMdata’s A&D service offerings leverage the organization’s more than 28 years of management consulting, market research and analysis, Webinars, solution assessment, and best practices education.
