Road crews in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties are ready to tackle what ever mother nature throws at them and they’re ready to test out a new system for sharing video and global positioning of their fleet.

According to an article from WWJ Technology Editor Matt Roush, motorists driving in Wayne County this winter will be able to get a snowplow-driver’s-eye view of road conditions. Wayne County Offers Snowplow’s-Eye View Of Road Conditions

For that matter, so will Web surfers anywhere in the world.

The new system called Compass gives residents and commuters a look at exactly where 149 of the county’s snowplow trucks are, where they’re going, and where they’ve been the past eight hours.
