Walsh College Graduate Creates App for Apple

TROY — Walsh College Master of Science in Information Systems graduate and Commerce Township resident Tom Pletzke is one of the latest app architects for Apple.

Pletzke developed the app as part of his capstone course at Walsh.

The app for his local band, the Lost City Band, was accepted by Apple on the first submission and is now available through the app store.

The app provides several pages of data about the band and its members, including news, biographies, as well as past and upcoming events. The platform was new to Pletzke, who chose to create the app for a class project. Students complete capstone projects to demonstrate mastery of their subject area prior to graduation and are encouraged to solve real-world problems.
