Free Pancakes At IHOP Tuesday

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - In honor of National Pancake Day on Tuesday, IHOP restaurants in the Metro Detroit area are offering a free stack of their buttermilk pancakes to each guest -- and it's all in the name of charity.

It's a fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network, with patrons asked to donate whatever they want to the charity in lieu of paying for their hotcakes. All 10 Metro Detroit IHOP's are participating and all funds collected go directly to Beaumont Children's Hospital.

WWJ's Kathryn Larson met one local family that has two reasons to smile on National Pancake Day. Watch their story below:

More than 14 million buttermilk pancakes have been served during IHOP's National Pancake Day celebration, which started in 2006. IHOP hopes to raise $2.7 million this year, with a goal to bring the total amount of funds raised to more than $10 million to support charities in local communities.
