AUBURN HILLS – Too legit to quit? For sure. In an effort to draw fans to Detroit Pistons games, the team is pulling out all the entertainment stops.

From Gladys Knight, fresh off the announcement she’s on the newest “Dancing with the Stars” cast, to classic rapper Doug E. Fresh and Motown’s The Temptations — there’s something for everyone. And the cherry on top could be Hammer, formerly M.C. Hammer, who will bring  old-school “Hammer Time” to The Palace.

“We are pleased to announce the entertainment line-ups for our upcoming games in March and April,” said Harlan Hendrickson, Vice President of Marketing for Palace Sports & Entertainment and the Pistons. “Adding musical performances to our halftime line-up is a unique opportunity to thrill our fans and add value to the overall basketball experience.”

Gladys Knight will perform a montage of her classic hits on Tuesday, March 6 vs. the L.A. Lakers. The Temptations featuring Dennis Edwards will highlight the team’s Motown Celebration Night on March 23 vs. Miami and hip-hop trailblazer Hammer will perform on April 22 when Detroit hosts Toronto.

The Detroit Pistons concert series continues with scheduled performances by DJ Kool, best known for his club hit “Let Me Clear My Throat,” Doug E Fresh, and Robin S, whose hit song “Show Me Love” hit No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 7 on the soul chart. April home dates feature performances by R&B group 112, best known for hits “Only You” and “Peaches and Cream,” Chubby Checker and Travie McCoy & Gym Class Heroes, who produced hits including “Billionaire” featuring Bruno Mars and “Stereo Hearts.”
