Detroit Dog Show Happens Saturday And Sunday

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) The Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show is here this weekend, and you can still buy tickets for the event that happens Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4, at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit.

So paws during your busy weekend to enjoy some of the most interesting and unusual dog breeds out there.

Detroit's  event is one of only five benched dog shows in the United States, which means visitors can get up close and personal with prized pooches. And there will be plenty of them, with examples from all 167 breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club. They'll be benched for inspection from 9 a.m.  to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for children and seniors, and $40 for a family pass that covers two adults and three children. Get tickets here.

For the entry fee, visitors can also enjoy various displays of mighty dog strength and agility. Watch the rare breed exhibit, see terrier racing, sheep herding, K9 demonstrations, Flygility and Flyball teams.
