Tigers Win Exhibition Opener Over Braves

LAKE BUENA VISTA (WWJ) – The Detroit Tigers take the exhibition opener 2-0 over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday.

The Tigers got the win in grand form as eight pitchers combined to throw a one-hitter against the Braves at Champion Stadium.

Pitcher Chris Bootcheck allowed the lone hit in the game for the Tigers. Doug Fister got the win – Luis Marte takes home the save.

Brandon Inge had the play of the game, making a diving catch and robbing a line drive hit off of the bat of Atlanta’s Jason Heyward.

Designated hitter Jerad Head hit a solo home run for the Tigers. Prince Fielder is batting a thousand after going two for two at the plate.
