Detroit VC Firm Adds Assets Of Tech Hardware Maker
DETROIT -- Capital Partners LLC, a Detroit-based private equity firm, announced Monday that it has acquired the assets of Chicago-based Delta Technologies as an add-on acquisition to its Los Angeles-based user-interface and product identification company, Nelson-Miller Inc.
The transaction represents the 10th acquisition from Superior's 2008 inaugural fund and the sixth acquisition in the last 12 months.
Nelson-Miller designs, manufactures and sources customized membrane switches, graphic overlays, nameplates, rubber keypads, touchscreens and other user-interface and product identification hardware. The products are used by original equipment manufacturers in the health care, industrial, aerospace and consumer industries.
Delta Technologies brings to Nelson-Miller complementary product lines and a diverse customer base. The transaction demonstrates the capacity of Nelson-Miller to be a platform company in a highly fragmented industry where many smaller players are unable to provide the level of service, technology and sourcing capability that today's customers require.
