–Left tackle Jeff Backus’ agent Pat Dye said he had a productive meeting with general manager Martin Mayhew and president Tom Lewand at the Combine.
“We had a positive discussion,” he said. “We’ll probably be reconvening here in the near future and we’ll see where it goes.”
Backus has started a franchise record 176 straight games, but he will be 34 next season and is coming off a year where he tore a chest muscle before camp and tore his biceps in the playoff loss to New Orleans.
