Plex Systems Announces Compliance with SSAE 16 Industry Audit Standard: Plex Systems Inc., provider of the Plex Online cloud ERP for manufacturers, Thursday announced an independent auditing firm has confirmed its compliance with SSAE 16, an auditing standard that is replacing SAS 70. Plex Systems has received a SOC 1 report and the SOC 2 report is in progress. Presented by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Standards for Attestation Engagements 16 introduces reporting requirements for service organizations while facilitating convergence of accounting standards between the U.S. based framework and the globally accepted principle for reporting on controls at service organizations. Companies undergoing an SSAE 16 examination produce a description of their "system" along with providing an assertion by management. The system includes services provided, along with the supporting processes, policies, procedures, personnel and operational activities that constitute the service organization's core activities. The "written assertion" by management forms one of the key differences with previous standards which did not require this document.
