Mateen Cleaves, captain of the last NCAA championship team in 2000, said injured freshman SF Branden Dawson will be difficult to replace. “That’s a big-time blow,” Cleaves said. “Dawson does a lot of things that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. He was becoming a really good rebounder and defender.”
