Red Wings Recall Gustav Nyquist From Grand Rapids

Detroit, MI… The Detroit Red Wings today announced that forward Gustav Nyquist has been recalled from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League. Nyquist, 22, currently leads the Griffins in scoring and ranks eighth overall in the AHL (second amongst rookies) with 54 points (19G-35A) in 53 games played. The 5'10", 185-lb. native of Halmstad, Sweden, has previously appeared in five games for the Red Wings this season, recording 0G-1A-1P.

Currently in possession of a 43-21-3 record, Detroit will take on the Los Angeles Kings (31-23-12) tomorrow night (puck drop – 7:30 p.m.) at Joe Louis Arena. All fans in attendance for this match will receive an Ian White 5x7 mini tradeable Fathead courtesy of Quicken Loans Inc. Friday's game is also a Meijer Kids Night, with the first 2,500 fans aged 12-and-under set to receive a free Red Wings t-shirt compliments of Mejier. Face painters and an old-time-hockey organist will be on hand tomorrow night at The Joe.
