Psychic Returns Money After Complaint Filed

FRASER (WWJ/AP) - A suburban Detroit psychic has returned $7,800 to a woman who filed a police complaint after paying to have a spell on her family broken.

Fraser Police say the woman who filed the complaint told them she visited a psychic on Feb. 10 at the Astrology Boutique on 14 Mile, where she was reportedly told a spell on her family could be broken for a price -- which she paid. Police say the woman later wanted it back, but the psychic refused to return the money and the woman went to police.

Police say during their investigation, the 32-year-old psychic gave them a false name and address, and said she didn't take the other woman's money.

Fraser police requested a warrant for charge by larceny or trick, but then the psychic's father contacted detectives and the $7,800 was returned to the victim, the Detroit News reported.

The woman who filed the complaint decided not to press the charge further after getting her money back.
