Sanjay Gupta To Deliver U-M Commencement Speech
ANN ARBOR (WWJ/AP) - CNN medical correspondent and University of Michigan graduate Sanjay Gupta is scheduled to deliver the spring commencement speech at the school.
The Ann Arbor school says in an article posted on its website that Gupta will deliver the April 28 address at Michigan Stadium, where the Wolverines play football.
Plans for the commencement speaker were reported Monday by The Michigan Daily. Gupta also is expected to receive a Doctorate of Humane Letters at the ceremony.
University President Mary Sue Coleman told the newspaper that Gupta serves as an influential example of what university graduates can aspire to become.
Governor Rick Snyder drew some students protest when he delivered last year's spring commencement address.
