Parents Arrested After 3 Kids Left Home Alone

PONTIAC (WWJ) - A Pontiac mother and father are in jail after police found their three young children home alone.

Oakland County deputies found the kids, all under 5 years old, including an 8-month-old baby, when they were called to an apartment house on Cesar Chavez Avenue on a report of shots fired Monday night.  They also allegedly found a small baggie of marijuana on the dining room table along with open alcohol containers.

Children's told police he left the kids in the care of another man. The mother was at work.

Investigators found out both parents were wanted on outstanding arrest warrants. Both were taken into custody.

The children were taken to Children's Village pending a hearing on Tuesday.
