Lidstrom’s Ankle Injury Continues To Linger

What initially was thought to be a day-to-day injury is lingering much longer than Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom imagined.

The deep bone bruise in Lidstrom’s right ankle is not getting better after 2-1/2 weeks of rest. In fact, it felt even worse on Wednesday. And that has the seven-time Norris Trophy winner a little concerned.

“It is discouraging, disappointing that I haven’t started feeling better,” Lidstrom said. “It’s (past) two weeks now. It’s frustrating, too, when you want to be out there playing and you can’t.”
