BRIGHTON TWP. (WWJ) – Several people were trapped in their cars late Thursday afternoon following a multi-vehicle accident along Old U.S. 23 in Brighton Township.

Livingston County Sheriff’s officials said the scene, south of Hyne Road, was cleared by around 6 p.m. and all motorists involved had been freed.

A Sheriff’s spokesperson said there were some injuries in the crash but none were serious.

That stretch of the U.S. 23 service drive is once again open to traffic.

Not to nick-pick, but, shouldn’t that be Hyne Road, not Hiney? Also, Old US-23 isn’t a service road for US-23, it’s the old alignment for that numbered highway and does not serve the freeway in any capacity.
