Work Resumes Friday On Telegraph Reconstruction Project Downriver

FLAT ROCK (WWJ) - The Michigan Department of Transportation said work will resume Friday, March 16 on a 2-mile section of US-24 (Telegraph Road) between Vreeland and West roads in Wayne County.

Southbound US-24 reconstruction is scheduled to begin Friday morning, with US-24 reduced to one lane in each direction between Vreeland and West roads. This configuration is expected to remain in place until summer when northbound US-24 reconstruction is slated to start.

When complete, the entire 2-mile stretch of Telegraph Road will have two lanes in each direction, plus a center-turn lane. Access to all homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

The $12 million project began last fall, and is expected to be completed this fall.
