2 Hurt In Muskegon County House Explosion

MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP (AP) - Authorities say a house explosion in West Michigan has seriously injured two people.

The Muskegon Chronicle reports the blast about 4 a.m. Monday leveled the one-story home in Muskegon County's Muskegon Township, injuring a 44-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman. Officials say both suffered burns and the man was taken by helicopter to a Grand Rapids hospital.

Muskegon Township Fire Chief David Glotzbach says initial indications are that the explosion was due to natural gas. The cause was under investigation.

Terry Luce, who lives across, says the explosion shook his house and knocked him out of bed. Neighbors helped the injured man and woman before rescuers arrived.
