Detroit Attorney, Client Charged With Perjury
DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit defense attorney has been arrested and charged with perjury Monday at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy calls the behavior of attorney David Dunn a "poison arrow to the heart of the criminal justice system."
The 42-year old Dunn is charged with conspiring to commit perjury and encouraging a witness to lie in a murder case. Dunn was representing 22- year-old Andre Collins of Detroit, who is currently a defendant in an ongoing murder case.
Collins is also charged with conspiracy to commit perjury.
"The evidence will show that he has done this more than once," said Worthy in a statement. "I cannot even begin to express how disappointed I am by his alleged actions."
Dunn denies any wrongdoing.
Collins and Dunn were expected to be arraigned in 36th District Court on Tuesday.
