Celebrate First Day Of Spring With An Ice Cream Cone & A Good Cause

DETROIT (WWJ) - Does the first day of Spring get any better than free ice cream and warm temperatures?

Dairy Queen stores have teamed up with Beaumont Children's Hospital for a free ice cream cone. No strings attached.

The first day of Spring, Tuesday, March 20, is Dairy Queen Free Cone Day. A cone is available to anybody that visits their store.

Dairy Queen will accept donations on Tuesday for the Children's Miracle Network  at Beaumont Hospital.

The stores will be staffed to handle the hungry crowds. The DQ stores will be open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Last year 45 participating DQ's served over 27,000 free cones and raised almost $20,000.
