Police Say 'Pantyhose Pervert' Might Drive Silver Jeep

ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - Police agencies across Metro Detroit say a man who has entered nearly 20 businesses across the tri-county area wearing only sheer pantyhose from the waist down, likely drives a newer model silver Jeep.

The so-called "Pantyhose Pervert" seeks attention in businesses frequented by women or children, and has been in several salon type businesses where he typically inquires about "Brazilian" or other body waxes.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said they reviewed security footage from a March 13 incident at Salon Bliss in Rochester Hills, where a silver 2005-2009 Jeep Cherokee, probably a Grand Cherokee, drove past the front of the salon just minutes before the man entered.

Detectives from the Clinton Township Police Department also spoke with a witness who earlier this week followed a man wearing pantyhose from the Forever 21 store in Partridge Creek Shopping Center. This was shortly after the man had been seen at that store. The witness said the man got into a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee and drove off with the vehicle's lights off.

Two other witnesses reported to police in Chesterfield Township and Canton Township that in locations near businesses the man had reportedly been in, they each saw a Jeep Grand Cherokee close to the time that the man had been there. One witness described the Jeep as white; the other described it as champagne colored.

The man has also been spotted at businesses in Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Township, West Bloomfield Township and Utica. In some cases the man was reported to be wearing a shirt and hat, and only pantyhose to cover the lower half of his body.

The man is described as a white male, approximately in his 50's, 6'0" tall, with a heavy upper build, a "pot belly" and skinny legs. He's wanted on indecent exposure charges. Police are also looking into whether he rubbed up against a customer at one store.

Law enforcement agencies in Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties are working together on the investigation.

Police are asking that people look out for this man and the Jeep. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. A cash reward is being offered for tips leading to an arrest in the case.
