Woman: I Was Poked With Needle While Trying On Clothes At Walmart

ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - A Waterford Township woman wants to know what was in a syringe needle that stuck her while she was trying on pants at Walmart in Rochester Hills.

The woman, who didn't want her name to be released, told the Oakland Press she was in the fitting rooms when she felt a poke and started screaming.

"One of Walmart's employees went inside the pants pocket and took the needle out," she said. "I was hyperventilating, not knowing what's going on."

The woman was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Pontiac, but was reportedly told by a doctor that they couldn't run a test on the needle, but that there was "brown stuff" in it. She believes the substance is heroin.

"At this point, I don't know if I'm coming or going. I have not been sleeping. I have not been eating. Whatever is in this needle, I want it to be known. I must have something in my system," she said.

The woman said the doctor returned the needle and told her to call the Michigan State Crime Lab.

"The crime lab said there was no way ... that hospital should have given me back that needle," she said.

The woman said she is seeking legal advice and is sharing her story to warn the public about possible danger.
