WATERLOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ/AP) – Authorities say two young people are dead following a crash in southern Michigan that sheared off the front end of the car in which they were riding.
It happened overnight in Waterloo Township. Police say the cars were heading in the same direction — when one tried to pass the other. Both left the road — one of the cars hit a tree and the other flipped over after hitting a utility pole.
The driver of the first car — 20-year-old Dylan Briningstool of Grass Lake — and his 18-year-old passenger — Icy James of Grass Lake — were killed. Briningstool’s 18-year-old brother is hospitalized in stable condition. Two people in the other car were treated and released.
